Watching this reminded me of how beautiful the production is. I remain grateful for that time and experience.

TONY'S GUIDE TO SWINGING

A friend of mine is going out on tour with SHREK as the female swing. She asked me my advice about swinging--since she hasn't yet.

Because it's such a specialty skill, I thought I would share my thoughts not only with her, but whomever searches the internet looking for tips and tricks of the trade.

I've only swung once (17 tracks...), but I learned a lot that could help others more easily obtain daily equanimity. So here it is folks...

TONY'S GUIDE TO SWINGING

My advice...

Don't be afraid to be proactive. You have 10x what everyone else is learning. Stand up!! Come early, stay late, work on breaks...you have to get it in your body and feel the spacing/staging, too.
Look at patterns. If you remember what the patterns are and whether things are going US/DS or IN/OUT, you can usually figure out memory lapses yourself...
VIDEO! You'll have something to reference at the end of the night or later in the run. Know that people change things and/or make mistakes.

I'd focus on "the woods" first--and then "the trees" and then "the leaves" :D For example...

THE WOODS
I made a bible with my dance captain. We did it digitally in Photoshop through layers. Every track (M1/F1, M2/F2, BEL, POT, LUM) had a color that matched costumes. If your S.M. has set diagrams, you could easily do the same with photocopies and colored pencils...

We labeled ACT. SCENE Bar# of "Song" (Name of section/choreo) so that they would be in order on the computer! :)

THE TREES
Once you head towards getting all that done...you start connecting the dots for each track. It's good to list all details (who you follow, meet/partner) so you won't panic on or off stage. It's also good to list props, costume changes (dressers had colors), and possible set changes. Your wardrobe and stage management departments are making their own spreadsheets, so ask them for any info that'd be helpful to you--and offer yours to them! :)

THE LEAVES
I also found in helpful to have a notes template made with the scenes/songs in chronological order. You can then transfer changes/notes to the spreadsheets as the creatives mold the show.

Since the tracking sheets will be digital, it's also good to go back and finesse them with details as you follow or do each track!

A CHORUS LINE

I had a WONDERFUL time working for STAGES St. Louis doing A CHORUS LINE. I played Roy and understudied Paul--an opportunity I remain grateful for. It was a pleasure working alongside some of Broadway's best in the landmark musical.

Our dance captain, Jill Slyter, taught me and my friend Leeds "Music and the Mirror." While she ended up going on as Sheila for the latter half of the run, Leeds and I finessed the steps as much as we could backstage.

Stage Management allowed us to do the dance for the company between shows on our closing day. Fortunately, my mother was in the audience as well. :) Here is our first time on stage with lights, music and the mirror...

Since, I've been back in NY working, studying (BALLET!!!), and auditioning. I'm delightedly heading back to join my STAGES family for VICTOR, VICTORIA this fall. Perhaps some fun videos/photos will manifest. :)

Methodolody and the Ideal Process

As I work through a rehearsal process right now, and contemplate what I want to do in this industry...I started jotting down the "ideal process" for me. (This is not affiliated with my current show--I very much respect my Director.)

I'm hopeful I will eventually find opportunities to direct/choreograph, though they are not priorities right now....this is merely me delving into the future possibilities and composing my thoughts.

I remember in college, Karen Kessler made us define a methodology as actors. So here is my "defined" methodology as Director/Choreographer/Producer/who knows...

CASTING

Create well defined breakdowns
Get creative team and casting director on the same page
Hire passionate and grounded Actors
SEND MATERIAL SHORTLY AFTER CONTRACT

FIRST REHEARSAL

Host brief introductions from cast and creatives
Initiate Tablework

Address the world of the play (conventions/realities/theatricalities)
Address the characters, environment, and relationships
Address questions
DISCUSS as a company

MUSIC REHEARSALS

Trust the cast to get off book
Allow production team to gain momentum
Prepare blocking/choreography

READ/SING THROUGH

LISTEN (ALL)

Allow influence to direction/choreography

Prepare schedule

CHOREOGRAPHY/STAGING

Stagger calls and split rehearsals
Work (Director/Choreographer/Musical Director/Cast) together to synergize elements

This is a blog....which is great. I can return to this, share it, get feedback, modify, etc.

The fact of the matter is that every show/experience is different and calls for a different approach. This methodology needs to be fluid and flexible...but I think it's always good to be prepared and specific, no? ;)

I was fortunate enough to attend GYPSY OF THE YEAR 2010 about a week ago. Many times throughout the event, I was moved to tears--after a moment of silence honoring those we've lost from HIV/AIDS, a piece celebrating the life of young Shannon Tavarez, and seeing Adrian Bailey walk downstage after a death defying stage accident.

Why Theatre Matters

Hello Readers!

I'm back in NY adjusting. While applying for study programs and signing with my agency, I sat down and wrote many things about who I am, what I want, and why I do what I do. Rather than self-promoting--I'd like for you to watch this great video from TCG that shares many of my thoughts. It explains on a national level why theatre is important on an international level.

We should never forget (as often underpaid/unemployed artists) the impact of what we are doing for the human race.

The Musical Adventures of FLAT STANLEY

Hi J!

My name is Tony. I'm Mrs. Weir's cousin! I received your FLAT STANLEY a few weeks ago and have enjoyed taking him around the country with me as I perform on the tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast! Thank you for allowing us to spend some time together! I hope you will enjoy these photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Stanley comes to see the show at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX.

I took Stanley on a backstage tour--including stops at the light board and my dressing room! :)

Stanley and I did some sightseeing while in San Antonio. I took his picture along the famous Riverwalk, with the Tower of Americas, with the star of deceased latin pop star Selena, and at the historic Alamo!

From San Antonio, Stanley helped me pack for our next trip--to Tempe, AZ. We flew on Southwest Airlines Flight #201--and were right on time!!

Once we arrived in Tempe, Stanley helped me grocery shop. Here we are with a crazy store display of sodas! After climbing so high, I took Stanley out for some great food at Smashburger.

After another day of travel, Stanley and I spent our final week together in San Diego, CA at the Civic Theatre. We are happy to see this sign welcoming us to the grand space--home of HUNDREDS of Broadway tours throughout the years.

Thank you for letting us spend some time together! I'm sending Stanley home to you through the United States Postal Service. I'll be including a signed program from the cast! Good luck to you as you finish your schooling. Hopefully when you finish your education, you'll get to travel as much as we do!

25: Thank you's and News!

I felt compelled to write a blog on my birthday. First, because I know my friends and family will read it! Second, I feel my 25th merits some reflection. Finally, I have news and updates!

I must say that I feel extremely grateful for all that I have received in the last 25 years. Despite some hardships along the way, I am now looking back on a very rich life full of many blessings. I’d like to thank some of the people who have helped make me who I am today.

First off, thank you Mom! You’ve sacrificed so much in your life not only for us, but also for your students, church, and community. Thank you for raising me in a stable Christian home and for always supporting and encouraging me to reach my full potential. I would not be who/where I am today if you hadn’t provided so much for me. I am eternally grateful.

Thank you to Tina, Brad, Michael, Jessica, Neise, Mama, Papa, Dick and Teresa--you guys are my rock. I cherish your support and love--even more so now that I’m constantly far away. It’s hard for me to miss so many special family moments, but I thank you for making efforts to stay in touch and keep me involved. Thank you to my entire family (on both sides) for continuing to stay involved AND support my career. Not many adults receive this attention and I am grateful for your continued love, interest, and encouragement.

Thank you to the friends who have stood the test of time. It’s an incredibly difficult mutual obligation to maintain a friendship over years and miles. Thank you to my pookie Tyler, my boo Stiffler, my pedro Kristin, my girl Angie, my wife Jen, my posse Amanda and Jason, as well as my NYC/life coaches Sean, Hoagy, Nicole, Erin and Tiana.

I’d also like to thank the MANY wonderful teachers I’ve had. Having a teacher as a parent and experiencing the job periodically myself, I know how difficult and time consuming (yet still rewarding!) the job can be. I received incredible educations both at Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation and Ball State University. Both schools allowed me to explore everything I wanted, receive quality educations, and offered me very personalized training and opportunities. Thank you specifically to Mrs. Hamm, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Wiseman, Mrs. Gibson, Mrs. Lockwood, Mrs. Walter, Mrs. Peron, Mrs. Ramga, Ms. Williams, Ms. Wilson, Ms. Ingram, Mrs. Brooks, Mr and Mrs. Stadler, Mrs. Wendleboe, Mr. Loomis, Mr. Cambell as well as Eddie, Ron, Harold, Wendy, Karen, Dwandra, Jonathon, Darrell, Michael D., Bill, Beth, Alex, Jodi, Sarah, Michael W., Lou Ann, Doris, Michelle, and Audra. You all invested your time, talents, energy and efforts. I will continue to share your training and pass on your support as I go along my own journey. Thank you to the Lilly Endowment, Hancock County Community Foundation, Indiana Elks, and Ball State University specifically for investing dollars into my education and future.

I would also like to thank the many non-theatre employers I’ve had. While I cannot list them all, I want to thank the following specifically for giving me trust and responsibility--in addition to financial security! Thank you to Blue Seas, Loggerhead Coffee, BSU-T&D and Music Theatre International. It’s a rare blessing to have some ownership and control as a young employee. Thank you for giving me the honor of management.

I’ve been lucky enough to literally travel the world doing what I love--creating theatre. While it’s a tough and unstable career, I feel it is my way to give back to the community and world at large. Thank you to all the INCREDIBLE theatres and companies I’ve worked for--especially to NETworks and the creative team of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast for the past nine months!

I have learned so much and grown from all of my life experiences. However, I would not have received the scholarship or job opportunities if it hadn’t been for the people I’ve encountered and mentioned here. (Please forgive me for any oversights or misspellings!)

I wanted to officially announce that I am ending my time with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and returning to NYC on 11/8. I am very proud to have been associated with this show and company--it was a dream come true. I would like to thank NETworks, Disney, Rob, Matt, Sam and Connor as well as the cast and crew for all they have given me. I have grown and developed significantly throughout my time with the show. I look forward to my next challenge and want to thank everyone for this incredible opportunity. I will (finally) be signing with McDonald Selznick Associates, continue my studies with Susan Eichhorn et al, and seeking my next project to “incite, inspire, motivate and provide.”

Updates

Greetings! It's been quite some time since I've written, so I thought I would take some time to update!

Following a wonderful layoff in NYC, we did a quick five show weekend in Albuquerque, NM. From there, we moved to Dallas, TX for a two week run. We had a wonderful time in Dallas at the beautiful AT&T Performing Arts Center. In addition to sharing a hotel with the cast of DREAMGIRLS, we traded tickets and forged friendships (We will cross paths again in San Francisco!). In addition, we were able to see the world premiere/revisal of SUPERMAN at the Dallas Theatre Center. In addition to officially meeting MTI ShowSpace vlogger Andrew Keenan-Bolger, I befriended fellow Beef & Boards veteran Cara Statham Serber and saw old BSU alums Christopher "Waffles" Wathen and Aaron Johansen. The boys showed me some fun nights out on the town and are both doing incredible work in theatre! Go Cardinals!

Fayetteville was a welcome adjustment. Coming from NYC and Dallas, it was very quite! We had a great gym with Clubhaus Fitness and I met quite a few fun people. Our local staff were all incredible people and I miss them already!

Now we are in Kansas City at the Starlight Theatre. Prior to arriving, I took a day to play in Branson with fellow cast mate Clifford Lyons. Cliff and I left after our last show in Fayetteville to drive to his Mother's home. It was nice to be in a house--albeit only two nights--with comfort, charm, and a delightful miniature poodle! Cliff and I had an awesome golden day at Silver Dollar City, Tanger Outlets and the Showboat Branson Belle!

Now that we are here in Kansas City, I'm reminded of my days at Jenny Wiley! Should be an interesting week...bats, bugs, and heat! The show starts with a national anthem before the curtain rises and the cast is introduced to 7,800+ seats. Since the sun doesn't go down until about nine, some of the initial illusions are adjusted for this unique space. Luckily, we have a cozy air-conditioned hotel to return to every evening!

Finally, I'll conclude this leg of tour with two weeks in San Francisco. My buddy Tyler may come visit!!! I'm excited to meet California and this historic and beautiful city.

Following San Francisco, I have a layoff from August 30 to September 19 and I've decided to come home to Indiana!!! I'm anxious to visit my three nephews and my newly married Kristin Rapp! I'm also having Lasik done on September 10. It will be great to be around my entire family, correct my vision, and see old friends. (I'm making plans now--let's talk!)

Swing it, Brother! Swing!

Recently I was pleased when producer Ken Davenport featured Arbender Robinson, a Dance Captain/Swing on his blog. From reading this account, I am inspired to share my own experience approaching such a heavy job!

First off, many of you might not know what a Swing is or does! Often when I tell people I'm the Male Swing on Beauty and the Beast, they say "I don't remember that character in the castle!" :)

Essentially, as Swing I am an on-call actor. If someone can't do the show (due to illness, injury, or conflict), I fulfill their performance, or track. My job is to cover the eight tracks of the male ensemble. I was also hired to understudy Lefou. In an emergency situation, I also cover the eight female ensemble tracks in the town scenes!

Requirements:
Arbender spoke very accurately when he said swinging "requires a ton of homework to remember different vocal parts, blocking, choreography, and acting intentions for each character. This includes everything they do offstage, too: costume changes, prop shifts, entrances and exits, etc."

Swinging requires a person to be very organized and detail oriented to document and implement every nuance of a role. In addition, one has to delineate what is critical to the show vs. an individual's artistic choices. One has to be able to fulfill ALL the critical requirements AND adapt/adopt the artistic choices.

Tips/Tricks:
 It's easiest to get everything down first! I choose to work digitally through videos, notes, charts and tracking sheets. Once in the computer, it's easy to clean up and implement changes. Digital notation makes it easy to record future notes, modifications and discoveries as well as preserve the work for future generations!

While I'd love to elaborate on my methodology of digital notation, it is my hope to find freelance work after this tour teaching my process to stage managers, dance captains, swings and any directors/choreographers interested in preserving or selling their work. Swinging is a very difficult job and I am hopeful that my process can be further refined and perfected to become useful to others.

I will say that if one finds themselves in a Swing role, begin by WRITING THINGS DOWN. Many of your questions can be answered by returning to your own notes! Look at the big picture. Find the patterns first, and then notate the myriad variations with MAXIMUM specificity.

Hint: Think about movement in terms of US/DS (or upstage and downstage!) as well as towards center or away. (It will help you to quickly reverse things!)

Pitfalls:
You get MANY days off!
Inevitable anxiety...

Positives:
 You get MANY days off!
You get to play MANY parts!

I really enjoy my job because every day is different! Performing the same role everyday in a long run has its advantages and disadvantages. However, Swinging Beauty and the Beast has taught me things about myself and theatre that I would never have garnered if I didn’t get to observe and do so much!

I am grateful and proud of this show and hope you'll get the opportunity to see it--with or without me in it! :)

Tony's Tour Tips

Greetings from New Haven, CT and the Town and Castle of Disney's Beauty and the Beast!

Though this is my first tour, I feel I've learned things I didn't know before. Therefore, I wanted to share some touring tips for my friends (heading into tours of A CHORUS LINE, THE COLOR PURPLE, and SPAMALOT) that will help save money and sanity!

Telling the Truth

David Mamet's memo to his writers on THE UNIT was recently released online. I was struck by his statement "The Actors job is to be truthful." Easy, right? WRONG!!! To be truthful requires more than your "Talent." You must have artistic integrity.

I believe artistic integrity is made up of your discipline, stamina, technique, work ethic, professionalism, and awareness.

Professional stage actors are most often required to perform eight times a week. Precisely hitting specific physical, vocal, and emotional marks (set by a director) TRUTHFULLY requires steadfast artistic integrity.

After the thrills of opening, actors tend to grow lazy or selfish. Your artistic integrity ensures that your performance doesn't waver. Having artistic integrity ensures you tell the same story each night truthfully...regardless of circumstances.

I'm currently blessed to be working with some true artists. I've enjoyed watching performances bloom with rich artistry--but remain truthful each night.

On the flip side, I'm taken aback by the negativity, entitled criticism, and pretentiousness of many theatre folk. Many see a performance and then delight in privately tearing it apart afterwards. Others watch YouTube clips and have the audacity to leave negative comments. If you can do better--then why don't you? (Easier said than done!)

I put together this video clip for MTI ShowSpace. Young writers Benj Pasek & Justin Paul discuss social networking and the future of musical theatre. I concur with these guys. If we keep being negative--WHO WILL CREATE!?

One cannot get better from watching and criticizing others! We are one big family and we should care about each other if we want art to be made. Find ways to contribute positively--don't contribute to the negativity.

Nike says it best: "JUST DO IT!" CREATE! Don't give in to fear. Be bold and take risks!!!

Finding "Home" on the Road

It's been a while since I've written--mainly because I've been insanely busy performing the last two weeks with Beauty and the Beast!

Rather than elaborate on the show and the pandemonium of split tracks and traveling, I'd like to write more about what I'm learning and exploring.

1.) What do you want to do after this tour?
Those closest to me know that I'm always planning and thinking ahead. It's a weakness of mine. Sometimes I wish I lived a more reactive/present life than a proactive/prospective one. Regardless, by setting micro and macro goals, I'm maintaining financial security and striving to reach my potential. I have many side interests and am currently torn about what to do with the rest of my life!

In the next 10 years, I want to:
1. Garner critical appraise in roles (Regional/NYC)
2. Have financial security
3. Establish community
4. Be healthy
5. Challenge myself

Ideally, I'd like these five ambitions to be lifelong.

I LOVE theatre and I've been fortunate in working consistently. (Success!) I could continue to explore this path--but I'm finding myself unsatisfied with the type of roles I'm booking. Eventually, I want to take on more prominent roles that require all of my skills--specifically in NYC.

I have an opportunity to return to NY and sign with a prominent dance agency, but I'm considering taking a year or two off to go to graduate school. I want to study voice and acting in a focused distraction-free zone. I need to garner confidence and an optimized identity. I want support and feedback from teachers that are actively interested in my growth and development. What is most important to me is that I don't look back at my decisions/life with regret.

I wonder whether taking two years off to study and invest would bring me this work faster than trying to broaden and develop my craft while active in my profession? Perhaps it is better to work, approach auditions differently, and seek understudy opportunities?

It's a difficult decision that I'm only beginning to investigate. I have plenty of time to explore/ponder/research/evaluate with my current contract. I will continue to talk it out with my friends and family but welcome any advice/commentary should any colleagues read this! :)

2.) What are you doing/learning while on tour?
Tour life is exhausting. Often I don't know what day it is or what city I'm in. This blur can be attributed to our early status. We are still daily rehearsing, learning, tweaking, and adjusting (I'm reminded of Wendy Mortimer's adage "Every show is a rehearsal.") alongside the creative team.

I am learning to survive "homelessness" by reaching out to close friends and family--while creating a new family on the road! I invite you to share email updates, photos or video chat with me!

I'm slowly becoming a minimalist. I am learning to evaluate what I need, what matters, and how to prioritize function for space! I feel that when I return to an apartment (in NYC or at a university), I will find myself selling possessions in favor of clarity, organization, and cleanliness.

While I'm on tour I've set four priorities, based on many articles on minimalism.

Stay up to date on current events
Rehearse every night

Health

Listen to your body
Eat right
Reserve some time for yourself
Work for optimal strength and flexibility

Graphic Design

Continue to develop skills
Freelance for supplemental income
Consider online courses
Create!

Exploration

Research graduate programs
Research teachers/studios/opportunities in NYC
Consider taking another international excursion!

I got to go on!!!

Our Beast, Justin Glaser, got some much needed time off to rest and recover. Therefore, our Associate Director, Sam Scalamoni, helped Steve Czarnecki get ready rapidly as one of the Beast covers. Steve went on victoriously for the Beast in Paducah, KY and I went on for his track--the Baker!

We are now headed to Waterbury, Kitchener, and Sioux City before arriving for a two week sit-down in Chicago! I am excited to see some family and friends, explore the city, and take some fun classes!

I will be going on many times in the months ahead as our principal covers swing-out of the show to watch and shadow their parts.

Rants and Raves

It has been quite some time since I've written. Part of that is my writing style/preferences for blogging. On most days, I want my blog to be positive and professional...because I don't know who might read it. However, after reading other friends' blogs I feel it is okay to truly speak my mind. After all, we are protected by the first amendment and my adopted mantra is to be bold, free and truthful! :)

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is currently en route to Kalamazoo, MI. I'm anxious to get there because we will begin understudy/cover rehearsals. I'll get to work/rehearse!!!

I feel disconnected in many ways. It has been hard for me to sit in various locales and observe the show for so long. While it's been great to look at the show (macro and micro) and notate, I wasn't quite prepared for the daily anxiety and lack of rehearsal space/time. Nevertheless, now comes the time to test my mind and memory--and PLAY!

I know that I will eventually enjoy this formidable experience and return to NYC smarter and stronger. Already, I understand more about the creative process and the various components of commercial theatre. I will have traveled the country, worked with a Disney dream team and fulfilled a childhood dream! In addition, I'll be acclimatized to a long process and touring!

Reviews for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST have been very positive and nightly audiences have been full and responsive. While all of the men have been able to perform, our female swing/D.C. recently went in for an ill female ensemble member. I was in the audience recording some new choreography and must say I'm very proud of her. We haven't had much time on our feet and she stepped into the show rather effortlessly.

On other fronts, I've greatly enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with many friends! Many of you are getting married and I hope I can attend! I've appreciated save the date's, invitations and cards. For the next sixteen months, please write me at:

"Final" Rehearsal Days

I am writing from Starbucks in Downtown Providence early in the morning. After attending the best Super Bowl party of my life (sorry Hoosiers!), I came home and couldn't sleep more than a few hours. After endless tossing and turning, I decided it best to get up and blog this morning, work out and begin to work on my 2009 taxes!

It's the day of our "final" dress rehearsal. I use final loosely because the show is really in previews. Tonight will be the last time the doors will be closed to the public, but the show will still be finessed and rehearsed for weeks. It is an exciting day as Broadway photographer Joan Marcus joins us to capture the show. I'll post links to the photographs when available.

I'm constantly running the show in my head. I get frustrated when I can't think of what comes next because I know that will be a huge problem when I go on! In good news, I'm developing a great methodology! Because I'm on tour, I'm turning all of my notes/charts/script digital!

I'm working with the dance captain to create charts for every musical number in the show. By creating a template in Photoshop, when we need to follow one track more specifically, I can highlight track positioning in a number of ways!

In addition, I've created an excel spreadsheet for every track. Having Stage Management and Wardrobe share their spreadsheets have allowed me to more quickly assemble costume/set changes and props!

Since I'm working so much on my computer in rehearsal, I've also begun taking notes digitally. This allows me to quickly write down changes and later wade through my charts and spreadsheet to make the necessary adjustments--sometimes for nine people!

If that's not enough to keep me busy, I'm also doing some print pieces for a previous web client, Angela Kariotis! I look forward to sharing her work here later.

Rehearsal Update #2

Tomorrow is our designer run! We have run through the show twice now and it is in great shape! This NETwork's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast has been re-imagined and is being fulfilled by 30 carefully cast, incredibly talented actors and actresses. I am looking forward to the impending tech process. We will gain additional rehearsal time as well as the magical synergy from the missing elements!

I'm becoming more comfortable with my swing position and the daily refining and evolving from rehearsals. Currently I'm focusing on the big picture, but will soon be able to get specific. While I'm not yet getting to perform, I am so grateful for this experience. It is a blessing to observe firsthand the process of Broadway creatives!

While I still have much work to do, I find it hugely gratifying that I will eventually get to explore multiple roles! I have to say I most look forward to playing Lefou and Monsieur D'Arque and am most terrified to assume Carpet or any track that isn't Tenor II! Regardless, the fear I hold will dissipate over time with enough rehearsal.

In good news, I was able to accomplish front and back handsprings this week with the help of Olympic trainer Wei Zhu. I have another session with him on Monday morning and will tour with at least one gymnastic coach! My special skills are growing!!! :)

Rehearsal Update

I'm writing halfway through week two of rehearsals. By tomorrow the entire show will be staged! I don't know where I've found the time to write this morning--perhaps it is a gift to myself!

Swinging is no joke! I won't be nervous once I learn each track I'm covering. However, the possibility that I might need to go in at any moment today due to illness, fittings, or unexpected complications is what stresses me out right now!

The show is going to be wonderful. (Watch our commercial for a glimpse of the new airy design.) I feel truly blessed to be working on the piece with the original team. It's wonderful to hear first hand stories and effective direction from the "horses' mouth." Many on the creative team are making improvements to their work from the successful 1994 Broadway production.

We have a media meeting on Friday morning. By then I should have my camera delivered. I hope to be able to vlog from the road.

In outside news, I am grateful to say that I will continue to do creative work with Music Theatre International, Creative City Design, and now Simple Light from the road. I look forward to sharing projects such as...
